What comes in this set?

The EMG SAVX includes three pickups (for Strat-style configuration), potentiometers, switch, jack, battery clip, and solderless wiring harness—everything you need for a complete electronics swap on a Strat-style guitar.

Will these pickups eliminate hum and noise?

Yes. Active single-coil designs like the SAVX eliminate hum and hiss while preserving the snap and pick attack of traditional single coils, making them ideal for high-gain or studio contexts where noise rejection matters.

What styles and genres are these pickups best suited for?

The SAVX excels in rock, funk, hard rock, and studio sessions where articulation and cutting through dense mixes are priorities. They are not recommended for jazz or folk playing styles.

How long does the battery last?

The low-current 9V design keeps battery life practical for regular gigging and studio work, though exact duration depends on your playing volume and frequency.

Is soldering required for installation?

No. The solderless wiring system reduces setup time and eliminates the risk of cold joints, making installation straightforward for intermediate or advanced players.

EMG SAVX Active Single Coil Pickup Set in Black

The EMG SAVX delivers articulate, punchy single-coil character with the clarity and noise rejection of active electronics. Built around Flat Alnico V pole pieces and a revised X-Series preamp, this set trades the vintage warmth of passive single coils for cutting definition and responsive dynamics that cut through a live mix. The solderless wiring system makes installation straightforward, and the low-current 9V design keeps battery life practical for regular gigging and touring.

Tone & Electronics

The 1.0V output and ~3.75 kHz resonant frequency position the SAVX in the upper midrange—essential for slicing through dense band arrangements without losing articulation. Active single-coil designs like this eliminate hum and hiss while preserving the snap and pick attack that make single coils distinctive, making them reliable across rock, funk, or high-gain stages where clarity and consistency matter.

Installation & Compatibility

Designed for Strat-style guitars, this set includes three pickups, potentiometers, switch, jack, and battery clip—everything needed for a complete electronics swap. The solderless wiring system reduces setup time and potential for cold joints, while the Black housing maintains a cohesive look on dark or natural finishes and stands up to road use.
