What's included in this pickup set?

The set includes a matched pair of EMG SLV single-coil pickups, an SA active preamp, 1 volume pot and 2 tone pots (25k each), a 5-way selector switch, stereo output jack, solderless wiring cables and connectors, mounting hardware, and three pairs of screws and springs. Everything needed for installation is included.

How long does the battery last?

Battery life is approximately 1000 hours at 9V operation, with a current draw of 240 microamps. A standard 9V battery will support extended playing sessions before replacement is needed.

What tone character should I expect?

The SLV voices a 3.75 kHz resonant frequency that emphasizes upper-midrange articulation and clarity typical of single-coil designs, while the active system keeps output controlled at 0.7 V RMS and maintains a low noise floor of -90 dBV. This makes the set well-suited for clean tones, pop, and indie styles rather than extreme distortion or heavy metal applications.

Is solderless installation really easier than traditional pickup installation?

Yes—the complete wiring harness with integrated connectors eliminates the need to solder components to pots and switches. The set ships with all cables, pots, and switching components pre-assembled, so installation is straightforward plug-and-play integration into compatible instruments.

What instruments are these compatible with?

These pickups are designed for Stratocaster-style guitars and other instruments with standard single-coil spacing and mounting. Check that your guitar has compatible pickup cavities and wiring routing before purchasing.
