What comes in the box?

The complete package includes the SLVX pickup pair, 9V battery operation system, solderless installation components, 25k volume and tone pots, stereo output jack configuration, 5-way selector switch, mounting screws, springs, and battery cable—everything needed for immediate installation.

Is this pickup good for blues and jazz?

No—the SLVX is voiced specifically for rock, hard rock, metal, and progressive music with its punchy, high-output articulate character. Jazz and blues players typically favor smoother, warmer single-coil voicings better suited to those genres.

How does the active circuit work, and will it need a battery?

The X Series active preamp eliminates hum and RF interference while preserving single-coil tone, running on a standard 9V battery. The noiseless design lets you maintain clarity in high-gain and live settings without compromising response.

What skill level is required to install this?

The solderless installation system simplifies setup, making it accessible to intermediate players and above; professional installation is always an option if preferred. The included components and factory-assembled controls are designed for straightforward deployment.

How does the pole piece positioning affect the tone and playability?

Pole pieces positioned closer to individual strings create a more focused attack and increased output, resulting in punchier response to pick dynamics and finger technique. This design contributes to the articulate, defined character ideal for heavy genres.
