Description
EMG SLVX Single-Coil Active Pickup in White
The EMG SLVX delivers articulate, punchy single-coil response with the clarity and headroom of modern active electronics. Developed in collaboration with Steve Lukather of Toto, this pickup combines vintage Alnico V character with enhanced output and controlled noise—built for players who need studio-grade definition on stage and in the studio without sacrificing feel under the fingers.
Tone & Electronics
The SLVX uses flat Alnico V pole pieces under a closed cap and features an elevated winding count compared to the original SLV, delivering a fatter, more focused midrange that cuts through a live mix. The X-Series Preamp provides increased headroom and punch over earlier EMG active designs, making this pickup responsive to pick dynamics and playing nuance while maintaining low noise across the frequency spectrum—essential for performers who rely on consistent tone night after night.
Live & Ownership Reliability
This is a solderless installation pickup that operates on a single 9V battery, eliminating traditional wiring complications during setup or replacement—critical when you're on the road or swapping gear between gigs. The white finish integrates cleanly into Stratocaster-style instrument aesthetics while the active circuit ensures consistent output and tonal integrity regardless of cable length or amp impedance, so your tone stays locked in from rehearsal through the back of the venue.
