JBL AM7215/64 Two-Way Full Range Loudspeaker
The AM7215/64 is a road-tested mid-to-large format speaker built for consistent, articulate output in live venues, touring installations, and permanent sound systems. Its trapezoid cabinet and rotatable waveguide adapt to any stage or room layout, while the dual-voice-coil woofer and compression driver deliver authoritative projection without muddiness or coloration—essential for keeping your mix clean and present from stage to the back wall.
Output & Live Coverage
This system achieves 96 dB SPL sensitivity at 1W/1m in passive mode, delivering 124 dB continuous average SPL with 130 dB peak capability—plenty of headroom for mid-sized rooms and outdoor gigs. The 60° × 40° rotatable waveguide and directivity index of 12.6 dB keep the sound focused and controlled, reducing feedback risk and stage wash so monitors and mains stay balanced and predictable under real-world conditions.
Driver Design & Road Reliability
The JBL 2265H 380mm differential-drive woofer with dual voice coil and magnetic gap handles extended low-end punch starting at 34 Hz (at −10 dB), while the JBL 2432H compression driver with 75mm voice coil and 38mm exit reproduces midrange and treble with minimal distortion even at sustained volume. Heavy internal bracing, multi-ply birch construction, and the durable DuraFlex finish survive multiple load-ins, outdoor weather, and years of touring without compromise.

Frequently Asked Questions
What SPL can this speaker achieve, and is it loud enough for my venue?
The AM7215/64 delivers 124 dB continuous average SPL and 130 dB peak SPL, making it suitable for mid-sized rooms and outdoor reinforcement. For larger venues or long-throw applications, multiple units in array configuration are recommended.
How does the rotatable waveguide help with placement?

Can I run this passively or does it require an amplifier?
The AM7215/64 operates in both bi-amp and passive modes, so you can connect it directly to a powered mixer in passive mode or use separate amplifiers for the woofer and compression driver in bi-amp configuration for greater control.
What construction features make this reliable for touring and installed sound?
The speaker uses multi-ply birch construction with heavy bracing, a durable DuraFlex finish, and a 14-gauge steel grille, ensuring it withstands repeated setup, transport, and use in demanding live and installed environments.
How does the dual voice coil woofer improve performance?
The JBL 2265H 380mm dual voice coil woofer with differential-drive design extends low-end reach to 34 Hz (−10 dB) and provides flexible connectivity options while maintaining extended bass response and minimal distortion under high SPL.
