Laney DBV212-4 2x12 4 Ohm DB Bass Cabinet
The DBV212-4 sits perfectly between portability and stage power. At 30kg with side-mounted grab handles, it moves easily between venues without sacrificing the low-end authority that cuts through a live mix. The dual 12" woofer configuration paired with an adjustable compression driver gives you articulate midrange clarity alongside deep, controlled bass response—everything you need to lock in with your band and be heard from the back of the room.
Sonic Character & Driver Configuration
Two HH Black Label 12" woofers deliver the fundamental frequencies with punch and definition, while a 1" LaVoce DF10 compression driver with independent on/off and full/half power switches puts high-end presence under your control. This hybrid approach lets you shape your tone on the fly—dial back the driver for warm, woody punch or push it forward for articulate, modern clarity depending on the room and song.
Power Handling & Connectivity
Rated at 500W with a 4 Ohm nominal impedance, this cabinet integrates seamlessly with most professional bass amplifiers and accepts input via Combi Socket connectors (Speakon-compatible twist lock plus 6.3mm jack). The bass reflex design maximizes low-end extension and efficiency, ensuring your tone carries without bloat.

Frequently Asked Questions
What makes the compression driver controls useful in a recording or live setting?
The 1" LaVoce DF10 compression driver has an independent on/off switch plus full/half power selection, letting you dial in exactly how much high-end presence and definition you need without swapping cabinets. In live performance you can dial it down for a warm punch or crank it for articulate clarity; in the studio this same flexibility helps you shape bass tone across different songs or mix contexts.
Is this cabinet suitable for home recording or practice?
No—the DBV212-4 is designed for live performance, gigging, and professional studio sessions where its 500W power handling and full output are needed. It is not intended for home practice or bedroom recording setups.
What amplifiers will work with this cabinet?
The cabinet has a 4 Ohm nominal impedance and Combi Socket connectors (Speakon twist-lock plus standard 6.3mm jack), making it compatible with most professional bass amplifiers rated for 4 Ohm loads and equipped with matching speaker outputs.
How portable is it for touring or frequent gigs?
At 30kg (about 66 lbs) with side-mounted grab handles and compact dimensions (720mm H x 500mm W x 390mm D), the DBV212-4 is designed to be roadworthy and manageable for gigging bassists who need to move it regularly without excessive bulk or weight.
What tone should I expect from the dual 12-inch woofer design?
The two HH Black Label 12" woofers deliver deep, controlled bass with a punchy low-end, while the adjustable compression driver adds articulate midrange clarity and bright high-end definition. The bass reflex design extends low-frequency response and maximizes efficiency, giving you a warm-to-modern versatile character you can shape with the driver controls.
