Description
Seymour Duncan Lipstick Tube Strat Pickup Set
The Lipstick Tube delivers a distinctive vintage character with smooth, articulate response across all three positions. These hand-built pickups excel at capturing clarity in single-note lines while maintaining warmth and body in chords, making them a solid choice for players seeking authentic retro tones without sacrificing modern playability on stage or in the studio.
Tone & Response
Built around Alnico 5 bar magnets, these pickups produce balanced output with controlled aggression—neck and middle sit at 3.40k DCR for responsive, articulate treble, while the bridge's 5.10k DCR provides increased output and sustain. The reverse wound, reverse polarity middle pickup eliminates hum in the commonly used positions 2 and 4, a critical advantage for live performance and studio recording where noise-free operation matters.
Construction & Installation
Vacuum wax potting suppresses microphonic feedback and squeal, keeping these pickups stable through any venue or session environment. Each pickup is hand built in Santa Barbara, CA and fitted with standard Strat-sized mounting brackets and 2-conductor shielded lead wire for straightforward drop-in installation into any compatible Strat.
