Description
Seymour Duncan Scooped Strat Cream Pickup Set
The Seymour Duncan Scooped Strat delivers a distinctive tonal character defined by pronounced highs and lows with a scooped midrange. This three-pickup set brings a classic cream aesthetic to your Stratocaster while maintaining the vintage-inspired construction that cuts through on stage—articulate, chimey top-end response paired with punchy bass frequencies that sit well in a mix.
Tonal Character & Design
Built with Alnico V magnets, these pickups are voiced to accentuate high and low frequencies while scaling back on the mids—a signature "scooped" EQ curve that emphasizes clarity in the treble register and depth in the low end. The underwound '50s-style construction with extended pole piece heights contributes to dynamic response and natural breakup characteristics across all three positions, translating to responsive, predictable feel under your fingers and reliable performance night after night.
Construction & Specifications
This is a complete three-pickup set sized for standard Stratocaster cavities with no modification required. The slightly higher pole height design enhances string-to-magnet coupling and output consistency across the fretboard, ensuring even response whether you're digging in hard or laying back, and keeping your tone consistent from the studio to the road.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do these pickups require any modification to install in my Stratocaster?
No. This is a complete three-pickup set sized for standard Stratocaster cavities and mounts without modification.
What makes the scooped midrange voicing different from standard Strat pickups?
The scooped EQ curve accentuates high and low frequencies while scaling back the mids, emphasizing clarity in the treble register and depth in the low end. This design reduces competing midrange bloom, making these pickups ideal for blues, rock, and country rather than genres demanding thick, driven mids like metal.
How responsive are these pickups to playing dynamics?
The underwound '50s-style construction with extended pole piece heights enhances string-to-magnet coupling and natural breakup characteristics. These pickups are highly responsive to pick dynamics and finger technique, with slightly higher pole heights ensuring consistent output across the fretboard.
What magnet type is used, and how does it affect the tone?
These pickups use Alnico V magnets, which contribute to the articulate highs and punchy bass response that defines the scooped character. Alnico V magnets are known for dynamic response and natural breakup at higher volumes.
Which genres and playing styles are best suited for these pickups?
These pickups excel for blues, rock, country, and funk—styles that benefit from articulate definition and low-end presence without midrange competition. They are not recommended for metal or djent, where mids-forward voicing is typically preferred.
