Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between the STC-3P and 2-band versions?

The 3-band adds a dedicated mid-range control, giving you more surgical EQ sculpting compared to a 2-band lows/treble design. This extra band is especially useful for funk, slap, and studio sessions where punchy mids are critical.

Will this work with my passive pickups?

Yes, this is specifically designed for passive pickups. It comes pre-wired and ready to install on nearly all dual-pickup basses. Specify passive when ordering.

What is the Slap Switch?

A proprietary EQ contour built into the circuit that engages when you pull up on the volume knob. It's a special tonal preset voiced specifically for slap-style playing to cut through live and recorded mixes.

What's included in the kit?

High-quality potentiometers on a pre-wired harness, battery clip, stereo jack, black anodized knurled dome-style knobs, and all necessary mounting hardware for installation.

Can I run this on 18 volts for more headroom?

Yes, the circuit can use 18 volts instead of the standard 9-volt configuration for increased headroom and dynamic range, useful in high-output studio and live scenarios.
