Soundcraft Ui24R 24-Channel Digital Mixer/USB Multi-Track Recorder with Wireless Control
The Ui24R is a compact 4U rackmount digital mixer built for touring musicians and live sound operators who need professional mixing firepower without lugging a console the size of a road case. Its 19-inch rack format and wireless control via Ethernet or dual-band Wi-Fi mean you can run your entire mix from a tablet or laptop—essential when you're managing multiple band members' monitor sends or soundchecking from the audience. Low latency and rock-solid performance in real venues make it a trusted workhorse for gigging setups, broadcast trucks, and installed rigs.
Mixing Architecture & Signal Flow
With 22 mic/line inputs (10 XLR combo, 10 dedicated XLR mic, 2 Hi-Z instrument inputs, plus stereo RCA), the mixer accommodates diverse source types without external adapters. Output options include 8 balanced XLR Aux/Matrix outputs, dual quarter-inch headphones with independent level control, and balanced XLR/quarter-inch main outputs, enabling flexible monitor and main system configurations. Direct Hi-Z inputs mean guitars and basses plug straight in—no DI box required on smaller gigs.
Processing & Effects Engine
The console features 20 Studer-designed microphone preamps paired with extensive channel processing: 4-band parametric EQ, high-pass and low-pass filters, compressor, de-esser, and noise gate on each input channel. 3 dedicated effects buses provide Lexicon reverbs, delay, and chorus for polished monitor mixes and room tone control. DigiTech amp and stompbox modeling on the Hi-Z inputs lets guitarists and bassists sculpt their tone directly into the mix during soundcheck and live sets—eliminating the need to lug a pedalboard or amp head to smaller venues.
