Takamine Legacy Series Acoustic Guitars

Legacy Series Takamines are made for guitarists who take an acoustic out to play. The Japan-made EF line, including the EF341SC, EF341DX, EF261S, EF407 and the koa EF508KC, centers on solid tops and the gloss-black dreadnought look that has long been a familiar sight on stage. The EF381SC 12-string adds a shimmering voice for players who want that sound live.

Gigging is where the SC models make sense. They come with CT4B II or CTP-3 CoolTube electronics, so you can plug straight into the house system without needing to add a pickup. Left-handed players are well served too, with several lefty versions across the series, so you don't have to settle for flipping a right-handed guitar.

Players and collectors can also look at the Santa Fe family (TSF48C, FSF40C, DSF48C) and the TF77-PT for a different feel and look. Current listings run from about $2,200 to $2,650. Browse the live inventory below, then talk to LV Guitars about the right fit.

Takamine Legacy Series Acoustic Guitars - frequently asked questions

What models are in the Takamine Legacy Series?

The Legacy Series combines the Japan-made EF models with the Santa Fe family. The EF range includes the EF341SC, EF381SC 12-string, EF341DX, koa-appointed EF508KC, EF261S and EF407. The Santa Fe models are the TSF48C, FSF40C and DSF48C, and the TF77-PT rounds out the series.

Can you plug in a Takamine Legacy Series guitar?

Yes. The SC models carry CT4B II or CTP-3 CoolTube electronics, so they are built to be plugged in as well as played unamplified. Tiers differ by body style, wood choice and electronics, so check each model's listing to see which setup it uses before choosing.

Does the Takamine Legacy Series come in left-handed versions?

Yes, several models are available in left-handed versions, which is not always easy to find at this level. Examples include the EF341SC Gloss Black and the EF341DX Dreadnought acoustic-electric. Every instrument is set up and professionally packed, and free US shipping and 30-day returns apply.
