Sound & Tone
The mahogany body with quilted maple top and set-thru neck gives this single-cut a warm, sustaining foundation with clear note definition, while the 24.75" scale keeps string tension relaxed and thickens the midrange. The EMG 81 at the bridge brings tight, articulate high-end bite for high-gain rhythm and lead work, and the EMG 85 at the neck rounds things out with fuller, warmer mids for solos and cleaner passages. It suits classic rock, hard rock and metal players who want consistent, low-noise active output on stage or in the studio, with dual volumes and a three-way toggle for quick shifts between voices.
ESP LTD EC-400 QM See Thru Black Sunburst
The EC-400 QM delivers a fast, responsive neck feel with its thin U profile and 24.75" scale—a solid choice for players seeking classic rock warmth with modern aggression on stage. The figured quilted maple top in See Thru Black Sunburst finish commands attention under lights while the mahogany body and set-thru construction provide the sustain and definition that cut through a live mix. Active EMG pickups paired with straightforward controls make this guitar road-ready for touring and session work alike.
Playability & Feel
The three-piece mahogany neck with thin U profile sits naturally in the hand, while the 350mm radius rosewood fingerboard and 22 extra-jumbo frets accommodate both open-position voicings and lead work across the full range. Set-thru construction anchors the neck deep into the body, resulting in responsive sustain and note definition without sacrificing comfort during extended playing sessions.
Tone & Electronics
EMG 81 and EMG 85 active pickups deliver articulate high-end clarity and warm mids respectively, with the bridge and neck configuration providing tonal versatility across gain structures. Dual volume controls, master tone, and a three-way toggle switch offer straightforward shaping of output character without unnecessary complexity.
