Ibanez Talman Basses: Offset Style for the Stage

Offset basses have a loyal following among gigging players, and the Ibanez Talman is the brand's take on that shape. The TMB series pairs a retro look with P/J style pickups, giving you the punch of a split-coil with the flexibility of a single-coil in the bridge position, a combination that suits a lot of different band settings.

Start with the TMB100 or TMB105 Standards if you want a simple, no-fuss bass for rehearsals and local shows. Step up to the TMB300 or TMB400 and active EQ lets you adjust your tone on the fly when a room is boomy or a mix is crowded. The TMB405TA offers another active option, while the Talman Prestige TMB2000 is the top-tier choice for serious players and collectors.

Stock turns over, so the live grid below shows what is ready right now. LV Guitars keeps the Talman line in view for bassists who want something a little different on stage.

Ibanez Talman Bass Guitars - frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the Ibanez TMB100, TMB300 and TMB400 basses?

The TMB100 and TMB105 Standards are the entry point, with straightforward passive-style electronics. The TMB300 and TMB400 move up to active EQ, which gives you more tonal shaping. All share the offset body and P/J style pickup layout, so the main difference is the electronics and tier.

Is the Ibanez Talman Bass a good choice for rock, indie or punk?

Yes. The Talman is an offset-body bass with a retro look and P/J style pickup configurations, which gives you versatile tone. Players use it for rock, indie, pop and punk. Passive-style models keep things simple, while the active models add EQ for shaping your sound further.

Are Ibanez Talman basses available as B-Stock or left-handed?

B-Stock units are part of the current selection. These are open-box, discounted instruments that are fully covered. Examples include a TMB100 in Tri Fade Burst and a TMB405TA in Cosmic Blue Starburst. There are currently no left-handed Talman models listed, and availability changes as stock moves.
