Frequently Asked Questions
What's included in this set?
You get two matched SH-6 Duncan Distortion humbuckers—one calibrated for neck, one for bridge—plus four-conductor wiring per pickup for switching flexibility, a wiring diagram, and mounting hardware.
Will these work with my drop-tuned or 7-string guitar?
Yes; these pickups are engineered specifically for drop tunings and maintain clarity and power in lower registers. A 7-string version is also available if you need it.
How do these compare to EMG 81/85 or DiMarzio D-Activator?
The SH-6 set prioritizes ceramic-magnet output and over-wound aggression for raw, distorted heavy rock; all three are high-output metal pickups, but Duncan Distortions emphasize chunky lows and harmonics where EMGs favor precision and DiMarzios lean toward balance and versatility.
Can I pair the neck model with a different bridge pickup?
Yes; many players pair an SH-6n Jazz Model in the neck with a Distortion bridge for added clean-tone versatility and tonal range across the guitar.
What string spacing does the bridge pickup require?
The bridge model is designed for traditional string spacing of 1.925 inches (48.9mm) measured over the pickup.
