Sound & Tone
The solid spruce top over quilted maple back and sides gives this NEX cutaway a bright, focused voice with tight low end and clear note separation, while the scaled-down jumbo body keeps projection strong without the boom of a full-size dreadnought. That balance favors fingerstyle, singer-songwriter strumming, and any setting where vocals need room to sit above the guitar. The TP-4TD preamp with its three-band EQ and gain control makes it straightforward to dial in a natural amplified tone for stage or recorded work.
Takamine GN75CE NEX Acoustic Electric Guitar Wine Red
The GN75CE NEX sits naturally in your hands with its scaled-down jumbo cutaway body—compact enough for extended playing sessions without losing the projection and resonance that cuts through a live mix. The wine red finish with quilted maple back and sides commands visual presence on stage while the solid spruce top delivers the tonal character Takamine players depend on. This 2017 model ships factory-tuned and set up, backed by manufacturer warranty.
Construction & Playability
The NEX cutaway body measures 398.1mm wide and 1053.9mm in length, giving you real fret access without awkward reaches while maintaining the acoustic punch you need in a band setting. A 644mm scale length and 42.5mm nut width combine modern playing feel with the guitar's compact build, working across different hand sizes and technique approaches.
Tone & Electronics
The TP-4TD preamp system handles live gigs with transparent amplification, built-in tuner, three-band EQ, and gain controls for real-time stage adjustments. The solid spruce top paired with quilted maple back and sides creates warm, articulate tone that holds its character whether you're playing acoustically or plugged into the PA.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this guitar suitable for someone with smaller hands or a beginner looking to advance?
The NEX cutaway body is scaled down from a full jumbo, and the 644mm scale length with 42.5mm nut width are designed for accessibility across hand sizes while maintaining professional tone—suited for intermediate to advanced players transitioning to larger or specialty instruments. Beginners should assess whether a compact cutaway fits their learning path, as this is built for gigging musicians rather than entry-level players.
What genres or playing styles is this guitar best suited for?
The GN75CE NEX excels in folk, indie, worship, and live gigging contexts where its warm, articulate tone and cutaway access shine. It is not designed for metal or djent styles, which demand different tonal and structural characteristics.
What is included in the electronics, and can I use it live right away?
The TP-4TD preamp system includes a built-in tuner, three-band EQ, and gain controls for transparent amplification and on-the-fly tone shaping. The guitar arrives factory-tuned and set up, ready for immediate live performance or studio recording.
How does the tone compare to other compact acoustic-electrics in this price range?
The solid spruce top paired with quilted maple back and sides produces balanced projection and warm resonance comparable to the Taylor 614ce, Martin GPC Grand Performance, and Yamaha LL6 ARE—all professional-grade compact cutaways for gigging and recording. Your choice will depend on personal feel and tonal preference across these models.
This is listed as a 2017 model—what condition is it in?
The guitar is a 2017 model that arrives factory-tuned, set up, and covered by manufacturer warranty. All specifications and tonewoods are fully functional and authentic to the original Takamine GN75CE NEX design.
